Our History

Agrinvest Commodities started in the city of Campo Grande, State of Mato Grosso do Sul by the merger with M.Monteiro Brokerage Firm, which since 1987 was providing services of brokerage of physical and federal auction markets of agricultural commodities.

Thus, in 2004, Agrinvest Commodities became associated with the Brazilian Merchandise Exchange – BBM. As of 2004, it began operating in the commercial advisory and price risk management segments.

PFor this, Agrinvest Commodities qualified as an Independent Investment Agent by the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), which allows us access to the BM&F markets, and has also entered into agreements with several international financial institutions that give us access to international exchanges such as Chicago (CME), New York (ICE), London (LME) and over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives markets.

In 2008, Agrinvest began to operate in the FOB port paper markets and in the Brazilian FOB vessels market. With those services, Agrinvest started its market positioning of a broker that offers a complete solution in price risk management.

As of 2008, Agrinvest Commodities began a phase of internationalization of its business, creating a diversified portfolio of clients in all regions of the world.

In 2009 the company moved its headquarters to the city of Curitiba in the State of Paraná.

In 2011, Agrinvest Commodities became a member of GAFTA – Grain and Feed Trade Association, being one of the first Brazilian brokers to be part of the most important arbitration chamber for grain trade.

In 2014, Agrinvest Commodities implemented Corporate Governance, with a Board of Directors chaired by independent members, which generated important benefits for its stakeholders, including ethics code, career plan, and shareholders’ agreement.

In January 2017, Agrinvest Commodities took an important step in its internationalization process by establishing a strategic partnership in Geneva, Switzerland, one of the most important global agricultural trade centers, with the objective of aligning grain offers from South America with demand from different world regions. In 2017, a new branch was also opened in the city of Maringá, in the State of Paraná.

In 2019, Agrinvest Commodities continued its expansion process and consolidated another strategic partnership in the city of Miami in the United States.
